A few weeks ago I was so honored to become a Jord Watch Partner! If you are not familiar with Jord, let me introduce them to you. Jord is an amazing family owned company based out of St. Louis, Missouri. They have a wonderful selection of natural wood watches, along with eyewear, hats and now handbags! The word "Jord" is actually Swedish for "from the earth, land or soil." My very favorite thing about this company is that they strive to use already fallen trees for their wood timepieces, and the more rare and exotic wood they actually try to use remnants from furniture! I was blessed to receive the "Conway" timepiece crafted from Walnut. This watch is extremely beautiful and impressive. Every year I struggle to find my husband the perfect gift for Christmas, so when I the Conway watch arrived I had to give it to him early. He was thrilled!!!




I wanted to get some photos of this stunning piece to share with you, and all I could think about was how this watch was truly a classic piece and defiantly heirloom quality. I decided to photograph it with my Husband's green 1969 GMC Sierra Grande truck. This truck is so special to him as it was his  Grandfather's and will one day be our son's.



I thought both the Conway timepiece and the Truck would compliment each other nicely as they are both classic, durable and timeless pieces. Definitely both are heirloom pieces.






The Conway came in this gorgeous wooden cedar box with a "J" engraved in the top for "Jord", but is also perfect for my husband as our last name is Jenkins.  Our little guy was fascinated with the box, as it has a compartment up top as well as a small drawer that pulls out from the bottom. This box acts as a humidor tho hydrate the wood, so be sure to store your watch in it! The cedar box also contains oil and a cleaning cloth to keep your wood watch hydrated and clean.






Because of Jord, I actually took the time to photograph my husband and son together for the first time with my good camera. I have to say it was a pretty special experience and I wish I would have done it sooner.



Delaine loved sitting in his Dad's vintage truck for the photos and just had a blast.




I had to go against my husband's wishes and put a Christmas tree on the truck for the photos. I couldn't resist! lol its the decorator in me..




I love how Delaine's little eyes are just barley peeking over the dash in this photo. Just darling!




Speaking of little eyes, he could not quit looking at his Dad's new watch, so we took it off and let him hold it and try it on.


This is not a staged photo, I actually snapped this at the perfect time to capture his excitement.

He loved wearing it.



We had a great time capturing photos of our new "Conway" timepiece, and in turn ended up capturing some very special Daddy and Son memories along the way.

The living room mantel is decorated for Christmas. Soft pink roses and cedar clippings are on display in an antique silver ice bucket. I recently found the bucket at a thrift store, its definitely worn and bent in places, but I still love it.




A couple of months ago I found these amazing cherub urns while thrifting and I immediately had thoughts of Christmas. I fell in love with the French style detailing and floral swags draped across each side. I decided to fill them with cedar clippings and pink and silver ornaments.




Then candlelight creates a pretty glow on the mantel.




This year there is fresh garland on the mantel with pearls draping down underneath.



I love how soft and feminine the Christmas decorations look this year.




This could be my favorite Christmas look since we've lived here at Welch House.











Each mirror is dressed with fresh evergreen clippings. Some even get pink satin bows.




The sofa is layered with comfy pillows and throws. I love the leopard print with the pink!




The angel statue was my Grandma's and is always on display in my home. She would display faux fruit in it. I have filled it with vintage pink poinsettias, pine cones and greenery.

 Welcome to the Holiday Door Decor Bog Hop! I'm so excited to share with you my front door decorated for Christmas! I want give a big thank you to Amber from Follow The Yellow Brick Home for organizing this blog hop and for inviting me to join in! If you are coming from Cloches and Lavender I would like to welcome you to my home!




I have to be honest and say that I don't usually decorated the outside of my home for Christmas, usually I just have a fresh wreath on the front door. This year I purchased several artificial wreaths at  Walmart from the Better Homes and Gardens line. They look very realistic!              




Over the summer I found this pair of very old and worn black ice skates. The tag said circa 1901. I decided to display them in the center of my wreath.




My absolute favorite items for my front door display are this pair of Nutcracker soldiers!




I happened to be at Walmart a few nights ago and when I spotted them, I knew that I had to have them!




They look so festive on either side of the door. The nutcrackers have a motion sensor and when activated they play "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" and their buttons light up.



I have a lighted garland around the door that I picked up Black Friday shopping this year.




I placed my black lions next to the nutcrackers. Each lion has a wreath around their neck along with a red ribbon.




Overall, I think my Christmas display looks nice and the nutcrackers add a lot of charm. I can't wait to display them each Christmas! They are definitely keepsakes!



When my little boy got home from school yesterday I heard him gasp from the sidewalk.  I looked up, and his little eyes were shining at the sight of the nutcrackers...and that's what its all about for me...to create a bit of magic for him at the holidays.





Next year I hope to improve on this set up, but I'm happy with how it looks considering I didn't own any out door Christmas decor last year. I'll have a great start for next year!

I found my ribbon at Walmart, I couldn't resist the cute sparkly pom poms.




Its always best if you a have a cute little helper too.😊




Preheat oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix both bottles of cinnamon and applesauce together until a ball of dough forms. You may need to mix with your hands at some point, as we had to.

Using about 1/4 of the dough at a time, roll dough to 1/4 inch to 1/3 inch thickness between two sheets of plastic wrap.





I love my vintage pink rolling pin.




Peel off the top sheet of plastic wrap and use your favorite cookie cutters to cut out the shapes. We chose the gingerbread house and two different gingerbread people shapes.








This cookie cutter is special to me because it belonged to my Grandmother.




Next poke holes with a plastic straw in the areas you would like to string your ribbon. If you are making ornaments, poke the holes into the top of the cookie. We are making a garland, so the holes are on the sides of the cookie.




Place your cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet.







Bake at 200 degrees Fahrenheit for 2 1/2 hours. Cool on a wire rack for one to two days.



Once cooled, string your ribbon.




You can leave your garland just like this if you want, we usually do. This year though, I wanted to add royal icing.






I decided to have fun with my cookies and just used my imagination to decorate them.




I found some sweet little pink bows at Walmart and used them on my gingerbread people.




The boys got bow ties and the girls got hair ribbons.




I also sprinkled my cookies with glitter while the icing was still wet. I think the sparkle is pretty.




Once everything was dry, I hung my sweet gingerbread garland on my green antique cabinet in my kitchen.




I think it looks very sweet. I love gingerbread people and I love to keep most of my decor very simple and not over the top, so this garland is the perfect touch.







I think the garland looks very nice with my shabby chic treasures in my cabinet.




This Christmas cup is absolutely darling and one of  my favorites! Its from the late 1800's and is pink luster ware. It says "Merry Christmas" and has a Santa depicted on it.



I actually have two of them and they are very special to me.




I enjoyed spending time with my little one and creating something together. I hope you enjoyed following along and maybe will add this to your Christmas traditions as well.
