December has certainly flown by quickly here at Welch House. I wanted to share just a few more areas in our home before the Christmas season is over!
The grand staircase in the foyer received a simple but elegant garland along the banister.
I love the simplicity of pink satin ribbons tied into bows. After looking at my work for a while I decided to add a pearl strand amongst the fresh garland.
My favorite idea was to add ornate vintage cameo style portraits to the bows. I really love this look and plan to recreate it next year as well.
I will need to search for more portraits this summer as I do not have many and not enough for the upper banister.
I have been loving bright pink this year for Christmas. I decided to add some bright satin ribbons to my Antique Chinese Chippendale Style Pier Mirror.
I just purchased this mirror over the summer and have been so excited to decorate it for Christmas!
A fresh Christmas garland is draped along the top and sides. I tied the ribbon around the carved Ho Ho birds and added two vintage silver bells that were my Grandparents.
I love the reflection of the Christmas tree in the back parlor in the mirror.
This is the view coming up the stairs from my Chapel.
This mirror makes quite the statement!
Underneath the mirror I have my two French nesting tables.
The pedestal bowl is a Christmas gift from a dear friend and I have filled it with my favorite and most precious ornaments. The pink Santa is a Rachel Ashwell ornament and the others are vintage from my Grandparents.
Next we will take a peek at the library. I do have to say that I'm not completely loving the library photos. It was so dreary the day I photographed in there, so I had to keep the lights on, which I do not like to do..but I had them so I figured I would share anyways.
I used brightly colored ribbons in here and lots of vintage ornaments in bright colors as well. This room I really had fun decorating because its so different from the rest of my home where I used soft colors.
Our family loves sparkling cider and we are stocking our bar cart for New Years.
My sweet tinsel tree filled with shiney brites.
I also went out of my comfort zone and ordered a bright pink Christmas tree. I know its not a popular look, and defiantly not for everyone, but I have to say that I really like it! I can't wait to use it next year and add a more ornaments and ribbon to it.
The last room I want to share with you is my bedroom.
It feels so cozy in here. I recently purchased six velvet curtain panels and it definitely made my bedroom feel very regal.
I always have my pink vintage Santa out each year.
The end of my bed is decorated with a sweet handmade tulle wreath.
This year I bought a pink ceramic Christmas tree! I leave it on at night and its so pretty to look at as I fall asleep.
Lots of pretty vibrant colors.
I also bring out my vintage blue tulle Christmas tree each year. I love vintage tulle Christmas trees and I'm always keeping an eye out for more. This year I bought a pink one!
I'm very happy with my cozy, simply decorated Christmas bedroom.
I hope you enjoyed this quick Christmas tour. I will be back posting again in the New Year! Thank you all so much for following along with my home's journey this year. I appreciate it so much and I am so thankful for all of my readers! I want to wish you all a happy and safe holiday season and a very blessed New Year! I will see you again in January with some new projects and updated spaces!
