French Country Evergreen Winter Mantel

Today I have the honor of being a part of The Cozy Winter Home Tours hosted by my friend Amber at Follow The Yellow Brick Home.

If you are just coming over from Have a Daily Cup of Mrs. Olson I would like to welcome you to Welch House!

I wanted to create a beautiful yet simple mantel for winter this year.

After Christmas most people take all of their evergreen garlands down and pack them away. I don't do this because winter has just begun!

I actually used three different garlands to create the garland on my mantel. There is cedar, eucalyptus and boxwood. I added pine cones and fresh white roses for a touch of winter white.

I decided. to wrap cedar garlands around the necks of both of my busts. I think they look festive for the winter months and the pop of gold garland gives a bit of color and unexpected glam.

I brought out my large gilded candlestick holders to display on the mantel as well. They give a nice height to the vignette.

The vintage green velvet chair is a garage sale find of fifteen dollars. This is actually our "Santa" chair. I loan this chair to my husband's work each year so Santa has a fancy chair to sit in as he greets children and photos are taken. The rest of the year it is moved throughout the house. I thought it would look beautiful in front of the fireplace with its evergreen garland. I also added a leopard print pillow. I am loving all of the animal prints lately! They are great "neutrals" in decor, in my opinion.

Candlelight is important in our home all year long, as I love the pretty glow.

This sweet teacup candle was actually a Christmas gift from one of my sisters. She made it! I love the pattern and the idea! I plan to make some of my own.

Here is a close up of one of the amazing fireplace ladies which reside on both ends of the stone cast mantel.

I love the details of my statues.

They are so serene and look amazing anywhere!

The white fur wreath I just found at a thrift store for three dollars! I thought it was the perfect touch to finish off my evergreen winter mantel.

I hope you enjoyed my simple winter mantel! I want to thank my dear friend Amber at Follow The Yellow Brick Home for hosting this amazing tour! Next up is Katie at  Let's Add Sprinkles I'm sure you will love her darling vintage decor!

Thank you for visiting!
