Christmas in the Foyer

Hello everyone and welcome to my very first blog post! Oh my goodness I can't believe I've actually finally done it! Starting a blog has been a dream of mine since my husband and I purchased our forever home "Welch House" in 2013. I will share more about our home's story and our journey in a later post, but for now I would love to share with you our foyer decorated for Christmas!

When you first step into our home you will be greeted by our beloved vintage chandelier affectionately known as "The General". I found him on craigslist and then learned that he originally resided in an actual Military General's home so the name just fit.

He sparkles so beautifully in the candlelight.

The last several years I have decided on doing a pink Christmas over the traditional red and green, and I must say I'm loving it. My favorite piece in the foyer this year is this beautiful blush pink bust of the Holy Mother and Child. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. Can you believe this was a thrift store find of only seven dollars?!

I was elated to stumble across this stunning pair of french candelabras on Facebook Marketplace and I think they add a soft ambience to this setting. I created the garland above the mirror using pieces of older garlands and some pink poinsettia picks that i've had for a couple of years.

The vibrant live pink poinsettias set the Christmas tone and look beautiful with my vintage French chair, which I piled with pink Christmas gifts. I love setting candles and votives on the staircase. The scattered ornaments look so beautiful in the candlelight. This set up is for photos only as its not very practical for real life when you have a 5 year old child and two cats, but I still enjoy capturing the magic in my photos.

Thank you so very much for stopping by! I hope that you enjoyed this post and will continue to follow along with Welch House as her journey continues!
From our home to yours..Happy Holidays!!
