I hope everyone is doing well. I decided to do a quick post today, as I had several requests from friends on Instagram to see the new garden table we have in our kitchen nook.
The kitchen nook is a fairly small, but bright area in our kitchen. I have struggled to find the perfect table for this space. In the last 7 years, this will have been the fourth table that I have brought home. Our last table was a large french style set and much to big for this area. It sadly got broken this past valentines day when my husband, son and I played a lively game of Jumanji. lol
To be fair, I actually sat on it over the winter and I heard a crack....and then while playing game, the boys' elbows did it in, as they were leaning all over the table. lol
Enter Craigslist.
I happened to browsing craigslist (no surprise here lol) and spotted this beauty right away! A lovely vintage, PINK, french garden table.
The price was right, so I went for it. The details are so intricate. The table legs are amazing!
Each wrought iron chair is beautifully decorated in roses.
This view is looking in from our dining room.
The rose details remind me of Beauty and The Beast.
The whole set is like a fairy tale. I am going to keep it "as is." The chippy pink paint is perfection.
When we first saw our home, this is what the kitchen nook looked like. It was very dark, with deep red walls and beautiful wood trim...also a ceiling fan.
I finally bit the bullet and painted the wood work in this area. While it was beautiful, it wasn't my style and I didn't feel too badly because the woodwork was not original to the home. The white woodwork brightened up this space beautifully. Our kitchen does have a gorgeous bead board ceiling which I love! I have no plans on painting it. I love the contrast of the ceiling and the walls. I would also like to paint the tiles...someday.
I love the windows here. When you look outside you will see a beautiful pink cherry blossom tree, and also our sweet antique wishing well.
Its a lovely spot to sit.
Love the chairs so much!
I have been wanting to get curtains for this area, but I'm still debating on what to choose. I have had long panels in here before, but I'm not for sure if I liked that look. I thought about white roman style shades. It would be nice to have some bit of privacy. These windows are ground level and at night I'm always afraid I'm going to see someone's face peeking in. Probably because my husband has done this to me a time or too. lol
Another "before" view looking into our nook. I did take this row of cabinets down to open up the kitchen and I don't regret it at all.
This is the view now. I cleaned the mirror last night and I think I forgot to straighten it. Oops!
The antique mirror is from a local antique store and the painting was a ten dollar garage sale find from many years ago. I have been saving it for my forever home.
Also this cute little garden table came with the set. I stuck it here in the corner for now.
Thank you for visiting my kitchen nook! I hope you enjoyed seeing this area of my home. Its not finished, but I still wanted to share.
I want to thank you all again for your amazing kindness and sweet comments. They truly touch my heart! I also want to say thank you to a sweet subscriber who sent me a lovely Easter gift in the mail. It was such a surprise and so special! 💞 Thank you!
I want to wish you all a happy Easter and I hope you are all healthy and safe.
I am currently working on my son's toy room and I can't wait to share with you the finished look!

ReplyDeleteOne of the simplest things regarding gel-filled mats is that they're terribly simple to take care of. For the foremost half all you've got to try and do is sweep the mats to induce them clean. If you wish to mop the mats, you'll need to try and do thus with water and a moist sponge or material, you are doing not need to use a mop as a result of they keep an excessive amount of water which will ruin the mat.
